The weekend just feels like a blur now, it was 2 days of racing, lots of paddling and lots of driving!
I headed down to Port Macquarie for the Australian Surfing Festival? as part of the QLD team to compete in the 20km SUP downwind paddle and 6km SUP sprint technical race. The weather was great for it still being winter, but the conditions certainly did test us.
This SUP ‘stuff’ has kind gone on from something I loved doing to get back into shape post baby, so not really any intentions for me to compete at this level. Everything has sort of fallen into place though and it is fun to be able to have a little goal and group of paddlers that I can train with close to home.
Something I really did not expect, was to come home with an Australian title in the SUP technical race…super stoked though, and hats off to all the girls that competed over the weekend. I think the world will be hearing more about the aussie girls soon enough!
So all in all it was a great little weekend, spent some lovely time with my mum and we saw a lovely part of the world. Port Macquarie definitely gets my tick of approval…
Have you ever visited Port Mac?
